Floyd Memorial Library
Project
The WBG worked alongside MDA Design Group and successfully executed the firm’s interior design and architectural plans. The team provided the following services for the Locust Valley Library: FF&E procurement, custom architectural millwork, painting, flooring installation, move management, book move, delivery and installation, and project management. The Floyd Memorial Library was completed in 4 phases in order to keep the library open to the public and was completed on time and under budget. The team successfully finished the project without sacrificing MDA Design’s design intent which is often a worry when budget is a concern.
The new layout and FF&E needed to be brought into the 21st century which involved adding technology, group reading rooms, collaborative study and work areas, and a renovated children’s area. All three levels of the library were completely revamped and executed by the WBG within 8 months time. Unique features included a custom reference and reception desks, powered furniture, custom shelving, 3Form resin panels, and custom upholstery.
