Flat Iron Bar Restore
When a client came to the WBG with the task of removing a 100+ year old bar, the answer was: yes, of course!
The bar was originally built in place in a local Bethlehem, Pennsylvania bar where it sat untouched and uncared for. Elevate Construction Partnership’s client asked for a way to remove and restore this beautiful cherry wood bar and they recommended the WBG.
Our crew travelled to Bethlehem, PA and found about 25% of the millwork in disarray – rotting, termit-eaten, tarnished. They successfully removed all of the salvagable pieces of millwork which included the columns and scrollwork, decorative doors and panels, and hardware. The WBG had to rebuild all interior base cabinets, various doors, and various cabinet cavities in order to structurally and aesthetically repair the bar.
In the end, it was successfully restored and kept its original design integrity and charm thanks to the talented wood workers and shop engineer of the Whalen Berez Group.
