Oak Knoll
Project
The WBG designed, built, furnished, and installed Oak Knoll’s new Early Learning Center called “Little Acorns” for their 2020 school year. Designer Giana Castelli acted as both interior designer, millwork designer, and project manager on the project over a six month period. The project began with design concepts and 3D renderings for fundraising purposes and then moved onto detailed design development that included: furniture (FF&E) specifications, millwork detail drawings and mock ups, finish selections, flooring design, and later approvals. Specialty millwork items included: custom upholstered seating with drawer storage, nap mat storage, student cubbies, tackable Forbo door surfaces, and custom child-height sink cabinets. A custom millwork tree was designed over the design development phase but it was ultimately decided to wait until phase two of the project to install. The project was installed on-time and under budget in time for Oak Knoll’s 2020 school year.
